2022 PEPSI UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL LEAGUE RESUMES
The Knockout Stage of the 2022 Pepsi University Football League resumes in September with Draws for the quarterfinals of the competition slated for this Monday 5th September 2022.
The 8 teams that qualified for the knockouts are as below:.
Group A
Defending champions Uganda Christian University’s dream of retaining their crown is still on after going through as table leaders with 13 points gathered from six games.
Group B
Two teams from this group advanced i.e. 2-time champions Makerere University Business School and Nkumba University.
Two-time winners MUBS had a 100% win record collecting all 18 points on offer while Nkumba progressed as one of the two best group RunnersUp with 12 points.
Group C
The 2018 champions Kyambogo University sailed through as the top of the table side with seven points.
Group D
With 11 points, St. Lawrence University finished top of the Group that also had Makerere University. St. Lawrence will be hoping to once again go up to the final and this time around try to win having lost to UCU in 2019.
Group E
Just like in Group B, Group E will also have two representatives in the quarterfinals.
Uganda Martyrs University who topped the standings with 12 points and followed by Kampala University who were the other team to qualify as one of the two best group RunnersUp with 10 points.
Group F
Bugema University also stormed the last eight having collected seven points to finish on top of their table.
The 4 group stage winners with the most points will be in one pot and while the other 4 teams will be in the other pot.
The Pepsi University Football League is celebrating 10 years of football that rocks having kicked off in 2012.
