Lango Politicians accused of fighting development of Lango cooperative union.

The chairperson, Lango Cooperative Union Maxwell Akora also Maruzi county M.P in APAC District has accused some politicians in Lango of fighting to cause and collapse of Lango cooperative Union.

Maxwell Akora who was speaking at the Annual General Meeting of Lango Cooperative Union held at the offices of cooperative in Lira city over the weekend.

Akora said some politicians in lango want to block the funds that ministry of finance want to extend to the union,but some politicians are allegedly fighting to block this move.

Akora said this financial year, they plan to establish a water processing plant worth 1 billion shillings for saccos under Lango Cooperative Union.

Ambrose Mugweri who represented Minister of trade and Registrar of Cooperatives said government plans to reinstate the cooperative bank that was closed ways back in 1997.

Mugweri warned against intrigue which may lead to the collapse of the Lango cooperative Union again.

Members of Lango Cooperative Union approved their budget for 2023/2024 financial year worth over 3 billion shilling

Wacio Dickens from Apac District said the budget approved by the union is viable but needed some bit of scrutiny.
