Lira City register first fatal road accident in 2024

Two people have been confirmed dead after unidentified motorvehicle knocked a Motorcycle reg UFX 820 R,at the junction to Teso Bar along Lira Cathedral road in Lira-City,the incident happened two hours in to 2024.

It’s alleged that unknown driver was from Lira City business center heading towards Lira cathedral road in Lira City at 2:24am.

This car,okema said was trying to negotiate corner opposite mayor’s garden to Teso bar, out of the three people on the motorcycle two passengers died on spot,the Rider was quickly rushed to Lira regional referral hospital for treatment.

The dead bodies were conveyed to Lira regional mortuary for post mortems report, by press time the details of the Motor vehicle were still unknown.

He added that Scene visited by traffic personnel, motor vehicle unknown still at large, motorcycle parked at police yard at CPS pending IOV inspection.

The investigation is going on police appealed to anyone who knows where about the vehicle is parked, since it will be having damages on it, to quietly inform police such that it’s impounded to support their investigation.

While police confirm that this is the first traffic case registered in North Kyoga this new year 2024.
