Police on spot over a defilement case- Kwania.
Police attached to Kwania Central Police Station are on the spot over allegation of trying to tamper with a defilement case .
On 17/11/2023, police of Kwania Central Police Station released on Police Bond a driver of Kwania District Local Government accused of defiling and impregnating a 14- year old minor.
Ambrose Ojok who drives a NUSAF 3 project pick-up double cabin vehicle attached to Community based services department is a resident of Township cell, Aduku Town Council, Kwania district but originates from Wansolo, Apoii Sub County, Apac district.
He is accused of defiling the minor who is a daughter to his landlord.
A police officer at Kwania CPS who pleaded for anonymity said the girl’s parents and relatives filed a case of defilement and OJok was arrested on 13/11/2023 and later released on police bond pending forwarding of his file to the resident state attorney for perusal and advice.
One of the locals of Aduku said they got reports that Ojok had mediation with the girl’s family at Kwania CPS where the girl’s parents demanded 8 million shillings to stop the case from proceeding to court.
This source said that having failed to agree on the money, the DPC of Kwania said the matter should be forwarded to court.
Jimmy Uhuru the LC1 chairman of Aduku township cell wondered why the suspect who committed a capital offense could be released on police bond.
Ambrose Ojok who is accused of defiling the minor said attempts to have mediation failed due to the huge sum of money the girl’s parents had asked for.
Charles Mugisha the DPC of Kwania by press time said he was in a noisy place when our reporter called him on phone and he promised to get back to us.
