Prison warder killed in Otuke.

Police in otuke district are hunting for unidentified criminals who killed a prison warder in otuke district.

The security in Otuke district are investigating circumstances of the death of prison warder identified as Wadress Angu Scovia aged 52 years old that attached to Otuke Prison.

While speaking to our reporter following Jimmy Patrick okema, the North Kyoga regional police spokesperson, said this report registered by Mr Otyanga Walter 53 years old officer in charge Otuke Prison in Otuke District.

It’s alleged that on the 14th Oct 2023, the deceased left her home which is located in the prisons barracks and proceeded to undisclosed destination and this morning 15th Oct 2023 her body was discovered dead at Otuke Town Council compound next to Otuke prison.

Crime scene was visited by a team of police officers from Otuke police station, it was documented and some exhibits of shoes, underpants believed to be for the suspects was recovered at the scene an indication that the suspect could have raped the officer before killing her.

The scene has been preserved and K9 ( canine) taken and led us to the arrest of 3 suspects, however the items recovered is believed to be for the main suspect who is on the run and has been identified as Omara Oscar.

This is a very unfortunate incident, we want to assure the general public, relatives of the deceased and prison’s staff that efforts to have the main suspect apprehended is ongoing.
