Busiika Police Station Death Toll Reaches 3
The death toll from the Busiika Police Station attack in Luwero district has reached three following the death of Police Constable Stephen Odama.
Patrick Lule, the acting Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson, says that Odama breathed his last at Mulago Specialised National Hospital on Tuesday morning where he has been nursing injuries sustained in the attack.
He said preparations were underway to take his remains to Madi Okollo district.
Odama joins his colleagues Detective Inspector of Police, Alex Wagaluka, former the in-charge of the Criminal Investigations Department, and Police constable Moses Ongol who were gunned down during the October 31st, 2022 Busiika Police Station attack.
Wagaluka was laid to rest in Mayuge while Ongol was buried in Dokolo last week. The two met their death when armed assailants stormed Busiika Police Station around 7:30 pm and shot them. The assailants also injured two other policemen and a resident before they made off with two guns. To date, police are yet to recover the stolen guns or arrest the key suspects behind the attack.
But on Tuesday morning, Police and operatives from the Chieftain of the Military Intelligence arrested 10 relatives of veteran National Resistance Movement politician Abdul Nadduli for alleged possession of the gun that was stolen at Busiika Police Station.
