Dr.Ziyad Lubanga Appointed Acting Sharia Director at UMSC

Dr. Sheikh Ziyad Swaleh Lubanga is the new acting Director of Sharia at Uganda Muslim Supreme Council-UMSC. He was appointed by the UMSC national management committee on Tuesday afternoon under the Stewardship of His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda.

According to Ashraf Zziwa Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, Mr. Nasser Musa Odongkara was also appointed the Secretary for Awqaf (endowment). The two officials, who took their oath of allegiance and secrecy, are pending confirmation by the relevant council organs to become substantive in their respective offices. Sheikh Lubanga has been the director of Zakah Collection and distribution department that he has greatly transformed.

In his congratulatory remarks, Sheikh Mubaje urged the newly appointed officials to come up with applicable modern systems that will promote and improve service delivery in their respective departments. “We pray for you that Almighty Allah strengthens you with courage, and wisdom so that you remain committed to their Oaths of allegiance and secrecy in order to safeguard the image of UMSC,” the Mufti said.

In attendance were His Eminence Sheikh Abdallah Ibrahim Ssemambo Tamusuza, the Deputy Mufti, His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa, the 2nd Deputy, Hon. Dr. Ramathan Mugalu, the UMSC Secretary General, and all UMSC Heads of departments.
