LANGO PARAMOUNT CHIEF SENDS GET WELL SOON MESSAGE TO PRESIDENT MUSEVENI
The clan chiefs (owitong) under the Paramount Chief (Won Nyaci) Tekwaro Lango Eng Dr Michael Moses Odongo-Okune have joined the rest of Ugandans in wishing President Yoweri Museveni a very quick recovery message.
Drawing from the rich cultural heritage of Lango where relatives, friends and in laws would visit and carry food items like peke (ngor ocelo), millet flour (mokokwon), simsim paste(nino odwoko) and guinea peas (apena),among others, Okune says modernity dictates that they send some messages of hope to Museveni whom he describes as Aba Adwong or Kwaro Adwong, an equivalent of Jjaja.
Okune also lauded Museveni for his sustained and exemplary leadership in the fight against deadly diseases like HIV/AIDS,Ebola and COVID-19,among others which has helped to minimize deaths of Ugandans.
As can be recalled, President Yoweri Museveni is currently in self isolation at his Nakasero State House after declaring last week that he contracted COVID-19 virus that ravaged the world in 2020-21.
Although it was reported that the infection was mild with some flu-like symptoms, Museveni who is always cautious and very sensitive in many matters including health chose to isolate to avoid infecting others.
Latest statement released by his PPS Dr Kenneth Olusegun Omona says the big man from Rwakitura is in good spirits and continues to recover steadily from the illness.
Dr Omona, who spoke to reporters noted that millions of Ugandans have sent messages of good will to Museveni who is feeling much better than before.
He is expected to remain in isolation for at least 14 days as is required by the Ministry of Health and World health Organization.
