Lira court remands UPDF soldier over aggravated defilement

   lira court grade one remands UPDF soldier until 15th of September over aggravated defilement. 

     The lira grade one Magistrate has further remanded a suspect who impersonated military personnel to lira government prison over aggregated defilement and child trafficking. 

   Stephen Aine Mugisha 39yrs old, and a resident of lira city west division was arrested three weeks ago and charged with aggregated defilement and5nd trafficking of children. 

On 30th last month, State Attorney Paul Omara asked the court to remand Aine to enable the prosecution complete investigation in to the matter. Meanwhile the lira Magistrates Hillary Murangira agreed to Omara request and remanded Aine until 15th of September 2022, where he will appear again for mention and bail application. 

The prosecution alleges that between 2016 -2022, Mugisha recruited harbored, Received Maintained and transported and now the girl is 17yrs, by means of deception or position of vulnerability for the purpose of sexual exploitation. 


   Speaking to our reporter following the matter, Capt Amos Nsamba the UPDF 5th Division spokesperson said Lt. Col. Stephen Aine Mugisha who is now a suspect as ever being in forces.
