One billion boost for Otuke Barjobi health unit upgrading from government.
The government has given Otuke district one billion Ugandan shillings towards upgrading of Barjobi health centre three, to four status to improve health service delivery.
State minister for Northern Uganda, Grace Freedom Kwiyucuny launched the construction works on behalf of Prime minister,Hon. Robinah Nabbanja and the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) engineering brigade will undertake the work.
Addressing residents during the groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday, Kwiyucuny lauded President Yoweri Museveni for showing good leadership by bringing in many development in the country.She also thanked the people of Otuke county for electing a visionary leader like Omara who has worked closely with many ministers in government to bring more development in the district.
Kwiyucuny also handed over a designed plan for the theatre and an Out Patients Department expansion to the Engineering brigade team. She urged the team to follow the rules and finish the work before the end of financial Year so that the money is not returned as consolidated funds.
She called for quality work since they are known not to be corrupt in whatever works they undertake.
Meanwhile the acting District Health officer, Patrick Opio said the funding is from the government through the ministry of finance planning and economic development for the financial Year 2022-2023.
He added that,the health facility covered a wider areas with a highest number of patients from the boarding districts such as Alebtong, Lira,Agago, Pader and Otuke.
MP Omara,thanked the government under the leadership of president Museveni for accepting to upgrade the facility in order to save lives of people
Robert Adyama the Resident District Commissioner said the construction will kick off anytime soon.
