The CGP congratulates indomitable Uganda Netball Super League champions
The Commissioner General of Prisons and Prisons Netball Club Patron – Can. Dr. Johnson Byabashaija yesterday met and congratulated our Netball players and team officials for winning the National Netball Super League Championship 2022/2023 by defeating KCCA Netball team on the final day of the compaign in Kampala.
While addressing the team at Uganda Prisons Headquarters, Can. Dr. Byabashaija in his congratulatory speech stated that this deserved victory achieved by Prisons Netball team was due to commitment, dedication and team spirit by the players having played 21, winning 19 and losing twice.
He also extended warm wishes that the netball team could make more victories in the future in both National and International Championships bringing fame to the Uganda Prisons Service.
“We did alot in order to achieve this title by appointing an Officer In Charge, improving on sports medicine, recruitment of proven players and timely facilitation of sporting activities. Now we are going back to the drawing board, work extra hard to achieve more trophies and we are definitely going to achieve our goal as Team Prisons by dominating the game of Netball for long in this region, we are so proud of the girls and we are very very happy,’’ declared the Commissioner General.
He assured full support to the Prisons Netball team by professionalizing all aspects of the sport.
After winning the National Netball League, Uganda Prisons Netball Club are now focusing on adding the East Africa Netball Club Championship to their title collections due to be hosted in Nairobi, Kenya commencing on the 13th May 2023.
