TWO PERISH IN ROAD ACCIDENT-LIRA CITY
The territorial police in Lira-City CPS are investigating fatal accident which occurred at around 16:30 hours at Golf course in Lira-City along Lira-City-Adekokwok road involving M/V Reg No UBM 819W Subaru Forester silver in colour and pedestrians.
It’s alleged that M/v Reg No UBM 819W driven by yet to be identified driver was coming from Adekokwok side towards timber yard at a very high speed and on reaching golf course, the driver lost control, the vehicle went off road and knocked two male adult pedestrians dead who were standing at the road side and the driver took off abandoning the vehicle at the scene.
The deceased have been identified by the spokesperson of Police North Kyoga SP Patrick Jimmy Okema as:
- Odur Martin aged 41yrs old a lango by tribe and resident of Teso Bar ‘A’ parish, Adyel Division in Lira-City West
- Obua Shadrach aged 28yrs old a lango by tribe and resident of Ayago in Lira-City West.
Scene was visited by OC Traffic Lira-City CPS and team, Dead bodies conveyed Lira Regional Referral Hospitals mortuary pending postmortem. Motor vehicle towed and parked at Lira-City CPS pending IOV inspection
