MAN KILLS OWN NEPHEW OVER LAND CONFLICTS

Police in Kole district are holding a one Denis Ojok on allegation of hacking to death his nephew identified as Tobby Ojok,40 years of age.

The incident happened at Abim village, Ayara Parish, Alito Sub-County in Kole District.

According to the North Kyoga Regional police spokesperson Jimmy Patrick Okema, this happened on the 23rd Oct 2023
and the report was registered at the Police by Charles Ekwaro,42.

It’s alleged that on that day at around 1900 hours, the suspect emerged from a nearby cassava garden, found Tobby (deceased now) at home seated on his veranda, cut and hit him on the head using an axe killing him instantly.

The suspect took off, leaving behind the killer axe, which is now part of the exhibits to be used against him in the court of law.

Preliminary findings indicate that there has been a long-running and bitter land conflict between the suspect and the deceased.

The suspect later handed himself over to the police in Alito police station where investigations have begun.

Following this incident, police have appealed to clan leaders to always try and solve issues affecting the community members within their locality or seek assistance from other relevant authorities for legal advice and guidance.
