Minister Kabanda celebrated Women’s day with Asians in Uganda
The Minister For Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan and Metropolitan Affairs Hon. Hajjat Minsa Kabanda officiated at this occasion organised by the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayani Sanstha (BAPS) to celebrate Women’s day.
The celebrations took place at the Swaminarayan Temple (Biwologoma),Kampala. women’s celebrated the day by having prayers.
The Minister thanked the BAPS women for organizing such a big event that was attended by over 1000 women, and note that the message of loving and helping others is central to most other religions and is indeed a key to development.
She emphasised that government is happy with the role the Asian community has played and continues to play in Uganda. The Minister also condoled with them at the loss of one of them who was shot and killed by an errant police officer. She encouraged them to take advantage of the existing peace in the country to advance themselves.
She promised them support in all their developmental activities. In attendance were prominent businessmen of this community, like Pradip Karia of Property Services Ltd, the Chairman of the Temple and his committee and many others.
