Police in Otuke district arrested 17yrs old girl for buries her newly born baby alive .

Police at Ogwete police station in Otuke district has arrested And have in their custody a 17 year old girl and with her mother for allegedly burying her newly born child alive.

   According to the Reports  indicates that Sarah Aol, a resident of Atyenlyec village in Alir parish in Ogwete sub-county with the help from her mother Scovia Acen gave birth at around 3Am on Thursday and buried the baby boy alive in a nearby bush very early in the morning.

Speaking to our Reporter following the incident Peter Ongom the chairperson lc2,of Alir Paris in ogwete sub county confirmed the matter and saying children who were playing heard a sound of a baby crying in a nearby bush and alerted other family members.

Ongom says after receiving information, they rushed to the scene and were they discovered that the baby had already died.

Mr. Ongom added that, local leaders arrested Aol and Acen before handing them over to police at Ogwete police station for further investigations following the allegedation and says, the resident district commissioner Otuke Gillian Akullo and other leaders held a security meeting in the area and discouraged people from committing such offenses.
