Police in Lira City West Division arrested three suspect for stealing electricity wires

The territorial command on Sunday 19th March 2023 at around 0900 hours conducted an intelligence led operations led by the DPC-LIRA CITY WEST DIVISION and arrested one JALLA AHAMAD 59 yrs old a born of Mbale District suspected to have been living and Staying in Bar Ogole cell, Blue corner in Lira-City West Division and engaging in Business of Scraps and Spare parts.

JALLA was arrested in the company of Okello Muhammad 50yrs old who was found busy melting the VANDERLIZED ELECTRICITY WIRES in an unfinished building at the Boys quarters within the premises of Jalla. AMINA AHAMAD the wife to Jalla Ahamad was also arrested to help in Investigations as well.

According to okema Scene was well documented by the CID team, the Suspects together with the Exhibits were taken to, LIRA CITY WEST DIVISION Station for further management. 

This is not the first time we are apprehending suspects believed to be vandalizing electricity wires.
We have invited management of Umeme to come and help in identifying this recovered items so that these people are charged before court of law.He said.
