13 schools to compete in Girl’s Schools Cricket week 2023

The 2023 edition of the Girl’s schools cricket week will be held in Soroti City for the 1st time. To spread the game away from Kampala, Soroti City will host the girl’s tournament from May 6th-13th.

The 2023 edition will feature 13 schools from six different regions of Uganda.

  1. Ndejje SSS, St John’s Mukono – Central
  2. Masaka SSS – Masaka
  3. Iganga SSS, Lord’s Meade Vocational School, Jinja SSS, Victoria High School – Nile
  4. Kilembe SSS, Mt Rwenzori Girls – West
  5. Gulu High School – North
  6. Olila High School, Light SSS, St Mary’s Madera (Hosts) – East

Olila High School are the defending champions of the tournament and they will be looking at defending the trophy on home soil.

The tournament will be played in the T20 format will the games happening at four different grounds in Soroti, Teso College School has two playing surfaces, Soroti Cricket Academy Ground in the city center and a newly laid surface at St Mary’s Madera. The teams will arrive in Soroti City on the 6th and the action will get underway on the 7th all the way to the 13th. The games are absolutely free of charge for fans to watch.

We seek the support of Soroti City in making this a memorable experience for the players as the girls compete amongst themselves.
