A security guard found dead at his working place in Lira City

The territorial command at Lira-City CPS is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic killing of Ogolo David, a 27-year-old security guard employed by PSG Security Company.

According to reports, on May 18th, 2023, the deceased was assigned alone to guard Apwoyo Distributor Limited shop along Bala road in Lira-City. Shockingly, he was found dead this morning, May 19th, 2023, with a severe cut wound to his neck.

The supervisor, Ojok Charles, was immediately notified and promptly reported the incident to Lira-City CPS.

A team of detectives, led by OC Station, visited the crime scene, thoroughly documented it, and collected the deceased’s body.

The body has been taken to Lira Regional referral Hospital, where a postmortem examination will be conducted. Several statements were obtained from witnesses at the crime scene to aid in the investigation.

As of now, the motive behind the attack remains unknown, and there are concerns regarding the security company’s management practices, such as deploying guards alone and without firearms. We have previously engaged with private security organizations in the region, emphasizing the risks associated with such practices.
We urge anyone with information that could assist in identifying and apprehending the assailants to kindly share it with the police for their arrest and prosecution. According to SP Jimmy Okema Jimmy.
