Accident kills one in Lira city

The territorial police in Lira-City West Division are investigating circumstances under which MOTORVEHICLE Registration Number SSD 121Q/SSD648 BENZE ACTROS WHITE DRIVEN BY one identified as BRUHAN A SOMALI BY NATIONALITY a resident of Kakuma in South Sudan who is on run AND UNKNOWN motorcycle WHOSE RIDER IS ALSO AT LARGE.
It’s alleged that M/V Reg No SSD 121Q/SSD 648 Mercedes Benz was following the unidentified motorcycle and as the rider tried to dodged a pothole the vehicle knocked the sacks of maize being carried under the motorcycle and the passenger identified as AKULLO MARY aged 22yrs old fell down and the motor vehicle stepped on her killing her instantly.
Police rushed to the scene and body picked and conveyed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital’s mortuary pending postmortem, motorcycle parked at Lira central police station yard pending IOV inspection as motor vehicle still at the scene.
