Invest in rural areas than abandoning them, minister Mateke advise youths.

Youths have been challenged to invest more in rural areas to minimize on rural urban migration of educated youths.

The State minister in charge of Youth and children affairs Sarah Mateke said while delivering her massage during the cerebration of Africa Youth Day at Sheraton Hotel Kampala under the theme dubbed: 1 million next level is knocking youth -led movements that transcend boarders:

Minister Mateke said that government has put in place various legal and policy measures to support young entrepreneurs including National employment policy, skilling strategic plan 20212-22, National Youth Council among others but youths live them in rural areas and come in urban areas to look for jobs.

Mateke adds if educated youths invest in rural areas will also help to creat jobs for uneducated in those irrespective areas.

However Mateke disclosed that the challenges Uganda is facing today such as Youth unemployment and underemployed are global issues which may not cause alarm as government is planning how to eliminate it.

Meanwhile Benard Odoi Onen the youth Mp Eastern Region says, youths must desist from looking only to White coller jobs but go down to these so called ordinary jobs and work to get money for thier social economic development.
