Over 150 chess players eye for scholarships

T. E. C. H for the World chess championship the first of this kind is taking place at Sports Outreach Ministry Resource Centre in Kiwawu Mityana Road.

The tournament has attracted 156 students of Som Chess Academy centres countrywide looking forward to win scholarships.

Four (4) pupils have a one year scholarship at their respective schools and these will be the winners after 8 rounds in the each section, a boy and a girl.

The sections are Primary and Secondary, two in each of the above, however other prizes are available for grabs in medals and trophies.

Robert Katende the founder of Som Chess Academy was very happy with the support they got from the sponsors (T. E. C. H for the world) saying that eductions is one of the tools they focus on in transforming lives.

The tournament started on Monday 22nd and will climax on Wednesday 24th.
