Abubakar technical services workers strike over delayed payments.



 Roads construction in lira city under Uganda support to municipality infrastructure development  (USMID )programme was interrupted yesterday after casual laborers laid down their tools over an allegations of non payment of their wages. 

The irate workers numbering 30 who were working on Boundary road accusing the project contractor of Abubakar of falling to pay them despite raising concerns on the same. 

Speaking to our reporter, Dicken Okeny who is one of the casual laborers of the company said that according to their work contract they were supposed to be paid 25,000= per day, but the company is falling to honour this agreement , and Bonny ojuka also accused the company of not to respecting the rights of their workers. 

   Al Nuami group and Abubakar technical services were awarded to contract to maker improvements on existing roads such as Obanga kene road, Nottee ber road, Aber road, Olwol road among others. 

However, the general manager of Abubakar services who also declined to reveal his name said the worker's will be paid very soon.
